men's doubles
12 pairs entered the 2009/10 Men's Doubles, held in the Smithfield on Friday 27th November. In the top half of the draw, last year's winners Dennis Watt and Keith Chalmers got through to the final again, but only after coming back from the brink of defeat twice in the early rounds, first when 2-1 down to Derry Sinclair and John Norquoy in the best-of-five first round, then at 3-1 down to Kenny Gunn and Lennie Clouston in the best-of-seven quarter final. Gary Aim and Chris Seator advanced to the final from the bottom half of the draw, first by overcoming fellow Pomona pairing Keith Aim and Erland Pirie, then getting the better of local boys Juicy and Gary Johnston in the semi. In the best-of-nine final, Gary and Chris never really got going and Dennis and Keith ended up winning it 5-0 to become the first Men's Doubles pairing to successfully defend their title. Dennis now holds the record for the most number of wins, with five.
There were 180s from Dennis Watt, Erland Pirie and Gary Aim.
