men's singles

The Legion hosted the 2010 Men's Singles on Friday 19th March, with fifteen players competing for the trophy.

In the top half of the draw, Kevin Critchlow and Don Wilson came through their first round and quarter-final matches to set up a best-of-seven semi-final. Don had the advantage of playing on home territory, but it was Noust 1 player Kevin who ended up winning it 4-2, to make it to the final for the second successive year, having been runner up last year.

The other semi-final saw the Legion's Keith Chalmers take on Juicy Johnston of the Smithfield. Juicy didn't produce his best in this one and Keith booked his place in the final with a 4-0 win.

The best-of-nine final promised to be a close one, with Kevin on fine form and Keith having not lost a leg all night, but that's not the way it worked out at all. Kevin took control right from the off, and his steady high scoring and clinical finishing was too much for Keith, who couldn't reproduce his earlier form. Kevin ended up winning it 5-0 to lift the trophy for the first time.

Kevin Critchlow and Mal Reid had two 180s each, and Keith Chalmers, Don Wilson and Juicy Johnston each had one. Don also had a 126 finish.
